Dr. Kay was born and raised in Palmdale, California. After graduating from the University of Southern California, he moved to Chicago, Illinois to attend medical school at Loyola University of Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and stayed at the Loyola University Medical Center to complete a residency in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery. Having developed a passion for Endocrine Surgery during his residency, he pursued a dedicated Fellowship in Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery in Augusta, Georgia under the tutelage of David Terris, MD. He moved back to Illinois to start a Center for Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, part of the Northwestern Medicine Hospital Network.
